The trunk latch doesn't make noise when trying to open it. I have a problem on my jetta 2001 tdi see if anyone can help me, when my trunk is closed, if i try opening it with the switch on the door, my remote or by turning the key, i blow my fuse #14, so i crawled from the back seats and pulled on the latch and opened it, i try with remote, key and door switch the trunk works fine, the motor actuator works perfectly, no fuse blowing,. Once lid is open remove latch and take out broken plastic to free up latch and reinstall.
I Checked The Button In The Glove Box And Pushed It On And Off And Still Nothing.

Once Lid Is Open Remove Latch And Take Out Broken Plastic To Free Up Latch And Reinstall.
Most likely cause is latch cover plastic has broken and got lodged in the latch mechanism. Sunroof broke, would not move and needed the entire thing replaced including the motor. The dealership said it was the latch mechanism so i replaced that but still no go.
